For advocates and chambers across Karnataka

Fill the facts.
File the bundle.

Your next petition, scrutiny-ready by tonight.

PetitionOS turns your case details into a complete High Court of Karnataka filing: cause title, index with real page numbers, synopsis, memorandum, affidavits and your scanned annexures, assembled into one numbered PDF.

The problem

The petition is drafted. The bundle still isn't ready.

Drafting is the advocate's craft. What follows is clerical, and it eats the evening: retyping cause titles, renumbering pages and fixing the index after every new annexure. One slip there earns an office objection and costs a date.

  1. Cause titles drift

Add a co-accused or a second respondent and every number, rank and “& ORS” has to be redone by hand, across the memorandum, IA and affidavit.

  2. The index stops matching

One more page in an annexure shifts every range after it. The index is the first thing scrutiny checks, and the last thing anyone updates.

  3. Format rules live in someone's head

A4, 14 pt, 1.5 spacing, the prescribed margins and continuous page numbers on every sheet, scans included. Word templates break the moment text is pasted in.

  4. Scans are too big to e-file

Phone photos of an FIR or charge sheet push the PDF past the 20 MB limit, so the bundle gets compressed, split and re-indexed at the last minute.

What PetitionOS does

Your facts go in. A compliant bundle comes out.

PetitionOS is not an AI that writes your petition. You write the substance. It handles the layout, numbering and assembly that Word gets wrong, the same way every time.

Cause titles that stay correct

Enter parties once. Numbering, ranks, “& ANR / & ORS”, guardian lines and State presets are generated for every document in the bundle.

An index that matches the pages

Page ranges are counted from the assembled PDF, so the index stays right after you add, rotate or drop a scanned page.

Rule 6 page setup, built in

A4, 14 pt Times-compatible type, 1.5 spacing and the prescribed margins. A chamber-practice option (Letter, 12 pt) is one switch away.

Every document in the bundle

Index, synopsis with list of dates, memorandum, verifying affidavit (“Para 1 to N” counted for you), IA with its index and affidavit, memorandum of appearance.

Scans merged and numbered

Add FIRs, orders, charge sheets and the vakalath as PDFs or photos. Reorder, rotate or remove pages; every sheet gets its page number.

Under the e-filing limit

Oversized scans are re-compressed, and the filing is split into parts under 20 MB only when it has to be.

How it works

Four steps. No templates to fight.

If you can fill in a form, you can prepare a filing. Nothing to install: it runs in Chrome, Edge or Safari on your office computer.

  1. 01

    Pick the petition

Choose quashing, bail or anticipatory bail. PetitionOS knows which documents that filing needs.

  2. 02

    Fill in the facts

Parties, police station, crime number, lower-court details, your paragraphs and prayer. A live preview shows every page as you type.

  3. 03

    Add your scans

Drop in the FIR, orders, charge sheet and vakalath, and arrange them in filing order.

  4. 04

    Download the filing

Fix anything flagged as missing, then download one numbered PDF, ready to print or e-file. Save the project file to pick it up later.

Your data

Your case never leaves your computer.

Petitions carry FIR details, addresses and allegations. PetitionOS is built so that none of it reaches us.

  • Drafting and PDF assembly run inside your browser. Case facts and scans are never uploaded to our servers.
  • Drafts autosave in this browser, on this computer. A project file moves a case to another machine.
  • For sign-in we see only your Google account's email, name and picture.
  • One device at a time: signing in somewhere new signs out the old session.

Pilot

Free during the pilot.

We are working with a small group of chambers practising before the High Court of Karnataka. Pilot chambers use PetitionOS free and help decide which filing types come next.

FAQ

Questions advocates ask us.

Something else? Write to [email protected].

Is PetitionOS an AI drafting tool?

No. You write the facts, grounds and prayer. PetitionOS sets them in the court's format and assembles the bundle. It never adds text you did not enter or choose, and the same facts always produce the same pages.

Which petitions can I prepare today?

Criminal Petitions before the High Court of Karnataka: quashing under s.528, regular bail under s.483 and anticipatory bail under s.482 of the BNSS, 2023. Writ petitions, revisions, appeals and District Court bail applications are in development. See What you can file.

Does it follow the e-filing rules?

The default page setup follows Rule 6 of the Karnataka e-filing rules: A4, 14 pt Times-compatible type, 1.5 line spacing and the prescribed margins, with page numbers on every sheet. A chamber-practice setup (Letter, 12 pt) is available if your chamber prefers it.

Where is my case data stored?

In your browser, on your computer. Drafts autosave there, and you can download a project file to keep a copy or move the case to another machine. Case facts and scans are never sent to our servers.

Can I work on another computer?

Yes. Save the project file, open it on the other computer and sign in there. Your account can be signed in on one device at a time, so signing in on the new one signs out the old one.

Can my clerk or junior use it?

Yes. PetitionOS is built for both the drafting advocate and the clerk who assembles the bundle. Each person signs in with their own invited Google account.

Who can sign in?

During the pilot, only Google accounts we have invited. Request a demo and we will add the accounts for your chamber.

Do I still need to check the petition?

Yes. PetitionOS formats what you enter; it does not give legal advice or check the merits. Read the final PDF before filing, as you would any draft. See the Disclaimer.

What does it cost?

Nothing during the pilot. We will tell pilot chambers well in advance before any pricing starts.

Does it support Kannada?

Not yet. PetitionOS prepares filings in English today.
